I entirely agree with Ellen. I don't even live in California, but it still seems to have an effect here.
Just to say it, my support is with Ellen and Portia, I really hope that they're okay, and that they are able to deal with this until all of the prejudiced Californians (which isn't all of them, obviously) realize that it's going to happen with or without their approval.
Ellen is like, an idol of mine, and my best wishes are with her and Portia.

dear ellen as many have or were decieved about prop 8 its sad how were we lead to believe other wise but however never the less love will always prevail! your a great person and your wife as well I wish the best for you well but I am trying to see what you cn do for me to get tickets for a friend of mine that has copd and wants to come to cali for the first time with my god daughter but we are short on cash she has book a flight on american for 4/16/09 she has a son who has heart problems and numerous surgerys and and is slow at the age of 21 I will do what I can but I myself am on social security and want them to have a great time but I don't know where to go she wants to take my god daughter to disneyland,seaworld,universal studios I have nickles and dimes but am worried that won't ne enough, this might be the last time that she will be able to do anything for or with her kids as well she is a cna and works in the rain sleet shine or snow just like the mail man to make ends meet but to help others as well she has another daughter that cant come cause she has 2 kids and doesn't have the money but wants to spend time with all of us because we might not get another can you please help us forgive me for writting on this page as I am not computer savy! LOL love and wishes sandra

dear ellen in continuous from the previous I am for this same sex marriage my friend had a brother who himself was gay and I supported the gay rights saddly he passed a few years ago and his other half on behalf had opened a sandwich shop in his honor callled punkies in portland maine owned by joe great place go there, we will always remember him and other as well we are equal and we or any body shouldn't discriminate it makes me sick!

Ellen...my grandson traveled to Canada and married Kenny the love of his life.The trip was too expensive for their famulies to go along but they went with all our blessings.When we are able to afford it we will celebrate with a party .....and soon with Gods graces they can be remarried with their families present

American's pride themselves as the largest and progressive nation in the world...they may be the largest...but they certainly are progressive...Come to Canada, we would be happy to have you and Portia celebrate your love for one another. My niece and her partner married last fall here in Ontario....it was one of the nicest, classiest weddings I have ever been too....

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE.....YEAH, WELCOME TO AMERICAN IDOL.....YOU WILL BE SO TERRIFIC, THE SHOW'S RATINGS ARE GOING TO GO THROUGH THE ROOF!!!!!

52% is better than 80% against. It's 50/50 now. Give it a few more years Ellen baby. There are still too many ignorant haters out there to make it right. I so surprised, with San Francisco being one of the largest gay communities in the US.

I can't believe how Ellen is selling out to corporate logos and products. How sad.
I saw her commercial where she mouths the words... ' Inner beauty is important, but not as important as outer beauty..."

I was shocked!! How could some one who has struggled through so much embrace and advocate so shallow a philosophy to millions of people already overwhelmed with corporate messages meant to keep us all focused on the mundane? It was disturbing to see her selling makeup and superficial values that are out of step with inner values of acceptance and inclusion no matter what race creed or sexual interest or how we are supposed to look!!!. Ellen , you need to get back to your roots girl.
